Created in 2012 by Law No. 005/2012 on the ratification of Ordinance No. 000002 / PR / 2012, the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS) was set up to help Gabon to develop new sectors capable of generating enough revenue to replace those derived from oil production.
The Strategic Council is responsible for the definition of the political and orientation strategies for the Fund’s intervention areas.
As such, the Strategic Council’s responsibilities include:
Carried by the vision of the President of the Republic, Head of State S.E Ali BONGO ONDIMBA, the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS) is a tool at the service of Gabonese people. It emphasizes diversification of the economy and the creation of intergenerational savings, which declines through the Strategic Plan Gabon Emergent (PSGE).
As exclusive agent of the Sovereign Fund of the Republic Gabonese (FSRG), our role is to manage non-state participations specifically assigned to another delegated structure. This mission
continues to evolve to focus on identifying champions we accompany with our transversal vision of different sectors of activity.
We also invest in different asset classes, both strategic profitable under the mandate entrusted to us. So we have achieved success and enthusiasm in the structuring of our projects, through the Public Private Partnerships we develop, especially in the energy sector.
We participate fully finally in the support of the government in the implementation of the Economic Recovery Plan (PRE). This is illustrated in particular by adjusting our sectoral exposure for adapt it to the new strategic orientations.
I welcome the involvement of the FGIS teams and the excellent collaboration that we maintain with the various ministerial departments, with the aim to make Gabon an emerging country by 2025.
